My personal favorite in that collection is the beginning to "sweet child of mine"......but how did they forget Chuck Berry?
@uunboundd This is basically it I guess
Nirvana’s most popular song. It served as an anthem for many of Generation X, who, like Cobain, found themselves confused and uncertain about the world around them. The song’s nihilistic vibe (“Here we are now, entertain us / I feel stupid and contagious”) appealed to many in a youth culture perceived as apathetic and cynical by outsiders.
@uunboundd
"Cobain came up with the song's title when his friend Kathleen Hanna, at the time the lead singer of the riot grrrl band Bikini Kill, wrote "Kurt Smells Like Teen Spirit" on his wall. Hanna meant that Cobain smelled like the deodorant Teen Spirit, which his then-girlfriend Tobi Vail wore. Cobain said he was unaware of the deodorant until months after the single was released, and had interpreted it as a revolutionary slogan, as they had been discussing anarchism and punk rock."
this is great i was a little disappointed when they played Jimi Hendrix 'Voodoo Child', because i always felt his 'Little Wing' gets overlooked - and then they played 'Little Wing' thanks @bondojoe!
@delamitri I forget how much great music there is...until I see something like this! It'll get you on your feet!
@DemandingFemale I've always liked that song...didn't know it was by Carol King. It doesn't sound like her writing. When I think of her, I think of James Taylor, and songs like "So far away". She was an incredibly gifted writer and singer .
@bondojoe This is Carol's demo. Written by her and her then husband Gerry Goffin. They were a great writing duo. They wrote songs for a few other 60s groups too, including Up On The Roof by The Drifters.
@DemandingFemale That's great! She sounds so young. The maturation was good for her voice. I like her sassy..like in Smackwater Jack. Tapestry was an incredible album. That's what we called them, then.
@lamusette Nice...I'll see your Soundgarden, and raise you an old Deep Purple. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zKAS7XO...
I like it all. Jim Morrison was first a film student. It would have been interesting to see what he would have done, if he had stayed with it. I think his anger, and self destruction was due to the fact that he couldn't accept the finiteness of life. I don't like it either. The lyrics to his songs suggest that he's rather go out on his own terms, than at the whim of God. " Well, I woke up this morning, and I got myself a beer
The future's uncertain, and the end is always near" " When I was back there in seminary school
There was a person there
Who put forth the proposition
That you can petition the Lord with prayer
Petition the lord with prayer
Petition the lord with prayer
You cannot petition the lord with prayer!
Can you give me sanctuary
I must find a place to hide
A place for me to hide
Can you find me soft asylum
I can't make it anymore
The Man is at the door" And I liked his humor in the song "Love Street". ...

Released when I was 2 my Dad played this when I was growing up. Jerry Doucette is better known in Canada than the US and he sure can play. From 2:34 on it's just pure Fender bliss.
