I haven't read the book yet, but I played Dune on Playstation and I have still got it. Looking forward to watching this.

@jackes The original books: Dune, Dune Messiah, Children of Dune, God Emperor of Dune, Heretics of Dune, and Chapterhouse: Dune by Frank Herbert are great. The other later books by his son, Brian Herbert, and Kevin J. Anderson do fill out the story arcs, but aren't written well and do not flush out the original ideas.
@BunzaiMaster The 3 books of The Butlerian Jihad are classics and do an excellent job of filling in the back story to the prohibition of thinking machines in the Dune books.
@Wander They do fill in the back story, but I found them very shallow. Too bad Frank Herbert did not write them.
