The movie is action packed with theme of gangsters, mercenaries, war and lots of firefight. Great to watch. Worth seeing again.
If you are an action buff, surely you will love it.Plently of violence, action and chase .The scenes have mostly been shot in Bangladesh. Good camera work, good action scenes and a different kind of story.
This was an action packed movie alright with some excellent fight scenes. I don't think the story was fully developed they way it could have been. Started off good. Didn't provide enough reason as to why they were after the boy in the first place. It also kind of came to an abrupt ending. Well worth a watch
its quite rare nowadays to find an action movie that actually delivers. not your usual plot, but I really enjoyed it....loads of action, good acting and a bad ass girl that know how to shoot...what else could you want.
I quite enjoyed this. Doesn't require much thought, a nice action packed journey.
I like Chris Hemsworth as an actor and think he performed well, having only really seen him in the Marvel movies, but he pulls off the gritty/troubled past merc perfectly.
Only one major plot "twist", so don't expect an epic story, just lots of action.
Great movie , it was more action and fun what i was hoping for..
To be honest, I haven't seen many Chris Hemsworth movies. Mostly Marvel movies which I loved and watched each one several times. Then there was The Cabin In The Woods. I watch that one at least once a year. Love it!
Extraction was heavy to watch and Chris played the heavy who had a lust for alcohol and money. He is portrayed as unreliable and yet also the one who knows how to get the job done and has proven himself many times in the past.
I didn't think I would like him in this type of role but, I was wrong he did an excellent job.
The continuous shot car chase scene was amazing. Good action movie with a pretty standard story.
I rarely write reviews but I feel like helping those guys who are on the fence about this film. It's action packed , but of course its filled with plenty of plot holes, but its enjoyable. I wasn't a big fan of the ending but its a good film for action junkies like myself. 8/10, so watch it but don't expect a filled stoyline that makes sense. your watching this for the action.
One of the best action packed movies of 2020. Excellent action sequences and suspense. This movie depicted the countries in question very well. The cinematography is awesome. must watch
Chris Hemsworth should be a bigger movie star. He is good in this, and very good to look at. However, the rest of the movie is quite uninspired and not particularly exciting. It is a well-made movie but Netflix has made much better originals. It doesn't bring anything particularly new or exciting to the table.
Top notch stunt performers, every action scene feels real, story as a few bumps not really important, this isn't a story driven movie but action driven, feels a bit long in the second act for me but it's a very cool stunt action movie at its core.
Great movie very well made.Life is cheap there,to see so many people died and no one cares.a world were a crook can own so much in a city with people that own so little.but to see how life is there really makes the movie.
This is a good movie, filmed in Bangladesh. The action sequences are good but sometimes OTT.
As far as action films go this one was pretty good. My only complaint is that it didn't really bring anything new to the table and honestly I'll forget I ever even watched this in a few days.
Good movie, great lesson.... goes to show you don't necessarily need to gain something before you can be a hero. But the end is terrible
Very nice movie to watch, I really enjoyed all the action. not a low budget movie. I will give it 10 stars.
Chris Hemsworth was definitely great in this!. Lots of action but the ending sucked
This was a pretty good movie there was a lot of action. The ending was a little disappointing. The storyline was good but a little slow.the acting was good I didn't think the little kids actually was very good though.
I enjoyed the movie coz some of it was filmed in Bangladesh. He killed a lot of police though..... but it's just a movie..so it's ok.
Oh,yeah. This was much better than I was expecting. A Man on Fire want to be, but didn't quite make it. Still, much fun to watch. I may very well see it again in a few years, we'll see. Since joining this glorious site, I can't keep up with the new ones.
Worst part of this movie was a camera view from the back seat, please don't do Blair Witch tactics, they didn't work back then and they don't and will not work now, other then that it was a great movie.. lots of action and steady storyline.
Chris Hemsworth tries out directing fo first time? not bad...not bad at all, 8/10.
A new Jason Bourne franchise?
Well it's OK-ish B-Movie-ish. It surely does not compared to say something like ryan reynolds and denzel washington in Safe House or Jason Bourne = Top Tier Action Block Busters. Hemsworth's personality just does not captivate and his supporting cast was even weaker. The Casting Script Cinematography is all just Soooo annoyingly B-movie. Its almost worst that it is "kinda good" because It almost gets me Off but just doesn't Get Me Over the Top! which is More Frustrating to Me. It's hard to Go Back after you've had the Best. Hemsworth needs to stick to empty headed beef cake roles. I'm glad the Ladies get off watching hemsworth - to warm em up for me. But I have to give it a 4. Maybe its just me being Moody and critical.
@druiddude Why did you give it a "4" rating in your comment, but you gave it a "8" rating?
@Penelope416 I'm newbie here so I didn't notice the 5 stars add up to 10 possible stars via precise mouse placement. but even my giving it 4 aka 8 stars probably seemed like i was being more generous than my criticism belied. the movie was actually good i just feel teased and get more frustrated and thus overly critical when its almost great. i did not take off points for social criticism. i don;t believe in censorship. we as individuals are responsible to be socially conscious - no matter what movies we watch.
It's always refreshing being able to see an epic action pack snatch and grab or if you wanna go with the battle scenes of urban combat then this movie brings it all to the table. I have to admit this brings to mind the division style get up and mein does this bring to mind a bit of cia black ops off the record missions haha. For all the action from start to finish and not to mention a foreign outlook than the same old same old i give this a solid 10/10 cuz mein this had me glued. Ignore the few ignorant and small minded reviews below or above. This movie brought to the table every bit from Gang related rivalry, to hostage taking and rescuing and not to mention a bit of mercenary involvement to urban combat galore left to right to dead center. Im a big war genre kinda fellow and i already want a part 2. If you loved john wick then mein this is an alternative to all them killer scenes. The starting scene intro is a foreshadowing and i like the fact that it wasnt just that the destination and culture and lifestyle seriously gets shown haha literally to the ghetto's etc. Real slum dog sorta deal.
I give the story a solid 5/5 cuz well shiz the damn action builds upon every bit of whats going on from thes tart.
The action pack scenes-10/10 O>O needs more rpg scense lmao.
XD and the actors really do every bit of justice. Movie was definitely great and i wanna see more. Read moreLess
this one was well done i dont think people realize the amount of work that goes into those cqc up close and personal takes alot of work for that! why cant there be more solid action like this around alot of the action is cartoonish and goofy nowadays this was brutal and relatively practical..kinda one of those one and dones with this one but i would like a sequel more of this definitely! [SPOILER]the female operative who was on the main chara ters side was too hot too handle that woman is sexy as can be with a scar 17 in her hands! lol [SPOILER]i believe that might have been tyler at the end by the pool to!
This genre isn't exactly my favorite (at least not this type of action genre, if that makes sense), but I think that this film was well done. However, what the movie lacked in story, it made up for tons of action. It was good to see Chris Hemsworth playing a different role, aside from his well-known THOR portrayal.
This is an entertainer for action lovers who love guns, punches, and bombs.
I had no clue the Russo brothers produced this. No wonder, Hemsworth was in it.
I love me some chris Hemsworth. Man he's so hot!! The things I'd do to that man...The dirtier and sweatier the better. He brings out the animalistic side of me. Rawr! This movie is pretty much nonstop action and badassery from the whole cast. Golshifteh farahani (say that 3 times fast😉😚) was sexy as hell in this movie too. Beautiful and badass. Great combo!! She has a naturally exquisite beauty about her. Great annf fun movie. Definitely entertaining.
@◦•●◉✿♡Momof3αηgєℓѕ♡✿◉●•◦ Maybe sweaty killers get the juices flowing, but I am concerned about the messages sent in this type of movie.
The story is glorifying mass murder of law enforcement officers, but dehumanising it because it is occurs in a place few people heard of. Imagine this was set in US, say the same drug gang dispute causes a foreigner to destroy downtown Miami and shoot hundreds of police. Would that be acceptable?
@Buttless I told people I knew the same thing when StarWars came out in the late 70s after the peace movement pacified the whole country. There is No doubt - MIC CIA Hollywood Banksters All want Americans to be blood thirsty Mercs. It should be on the frontal lobe of every american when they watch movies
@Buttless It's just a movie. No different than any other action movie.
this is just a lame story that does little to explain why a man living halfway around the world in his own little backyard paradise should give a sh*t about the offspring of some drug dealer scuzz from anywhere else. don't watch this if you're looking for anything more than a demo reel for everything a stuntman knows about how to make action sequences look cool: the only good part lasted about 12 minutes, the rest just seemed like an obstacle course.
yes, it was quite pointless for a man to defend himself by any means possible from being killed by swarms of people coming at him with guns and various sharp blades. don't watch this if you'd rather they sit calmly to discuss their objections and forge a peaceful resolution to the matters at hand.
some have pointedly chosen to criticize this film based on the national identity - or "race" of the characters involved. perhaps they would prefer Australians were imported to portray the local police of Dhaka. don't watch this if your inclination toward liberalism has somehow obliged you toward obsessing on the colour of people's skin and how it should determine their place in the world, you racist f*ck.
american actor and stunt coordinator Sam Hargrave is the director of this film, it tells you right there on the two-movies page. it will be interesting to see what else he can do outside of the marvel universe, preferably with a better story and script.
dakka dakka - that's about half the movie unless you know how to download subtitles, though i doubt those scenes made the rest of it any better. Read moreLess
@uunboundd there is a lot not to like about the whole movie narrative on many levels including the psycho-social-political effects these movies have on people who don't think twice or critical when they are being "entertained". wake up world!
@druiddude remember how the hero kept kicking in doors and running through people's apartments to get from one side of the building to the other, and how the tenants would remain sitting there in front of the tv without screaming or yelling at him. they'd already turned the volume up because of the gunfire outside.
@uunboundd Yes its Art. And as Andy Warhol said about everyone's personal reaction to art ... "they are right!" ... even when its a bad reaction. I don't believe in censorship - I believe in support your right to freely express your personal reaction. i do understand and empathize with you. and thus you proactively made this piece of Art serve and communicate your visions and purposes. That is Excellent!
Surprisingly good. I love how the trend goes to less cuts during action and chase scenes.
This s a movie for all blood thirsty action fan all over the world. If your a fan of the old school Rambo and Jason Borne movies this is worth every second to watch. Chris Hemisworth did a good job playing the anti-hero. And I’m not a fan of this dude. Many people would be a faint of heart watching certain parts. To know that Chris directed this movie shows that he is grown from the marvel days.
The plot was a bit predictable, the storyline could of used some work but the cinematography was pretty good. I would recommend watching.
one of the best gun fighting movie of the year!
Love this movie...def watch it...lots of action and blood...
The title reminds me of dentists, but after getting over that trauma I had the deja-vu feeling of seeing it all before.. its a remake of Man on Fire.
Two hours of quite pointless violence, mainly one Australian shooting hundreds (yes, hundreds) of brown people in police uniform.
But what was the plot? One burnt-out Marine saves an Indian drug-lord's kid from a Bangladeshi drug-lord, regardless of collateral damage. That's it.
Chris Helmsworth directed and starred in this move, often a bad idea because it becomes a me-me-me show.
But the camera work was good, and one memorable moment was one baddy re-setting his own broken nose.
yep, enjoyed that one, some great action shots, just when I thought I'd seen it all...Wasn't really sure what the ending meant but I'll probably watch it again as I struggled a bit with their accents, but yeh well acted & full on. Also some great drone footage in the action scenes I hadn't noticed in other movies...give it a go for some Mumbai skyline... 7/10
Now that piece took a lot of coordination to carry it through 3 Countries. It also took quiet a budget. Rudraksh Jaiswal, was a convincing scared boy in the power plays of his elders. Randeep Hooda,we will see if i can remember that name in the future too. Their English was better than some of my languages, so props to them for that. Loved it when Randeep reset his own nose.
