I loved it. It's a little slow on the action for the first half but picks up after that and the end really makes up for it all. It really makes me want to see Avengers: Endgame. I can't say that it's one of my favorite Marvel movies but I really enjoyed it. 9/10
As a near 40 year old "white dude" this movie wasnt made for me according to Mrs. Cheese Theft herself but I decided to skip out on paying for it and watch it here and it was great! at putting me to sleep...
@stabbymcstomp Not the Captain Marvel I grew up with & paid good money for.
No entertainment value for our family.
Horrible movie. I don't like this one. Acting is bad. I don't know why they thought they were so good as stars in this movie at the red carpet. and Lashana Lynch should quit acting, she was so horrible in this movie. I'm glad this is the only movie I know her in. This movie was so repulsive it made me sick. 30 minutes into the movie and I quit watching it. It was the worst movie I have seen by far this year. Directors need to do a better job of who they choose for acting. And Brie Larsons huge forehead obviously could'nt think of any other good way to act in this film like her others except being a cornball.
@kljk,. "the only movie I know her in"... what about the new 007?
@nikozolo I'm so disappointed when I heard about that. They should stick to male actors as 007 and white.
Okay, so first you have to wade through an hour and 20 minutes to see any real action. By then you're starting to wonder if this is a lifetime channel movie about a confused young woman, or the woman hero who kicks @ss on kree, and skrulls. The last 30 minutes will answer that question, but it's hard to get there. If i had to do it over again, I would have slept through the first 80 minutes, and let my wife tell me about it if the last 30 minutes made me want to know. Maybe the origin of Nick Fury's eye injury would have compelled me to stay awake though.
@sidewayswalking i'll tell you who really has "confusioned young man"is Spiderman!!I like the Webcrawler but the fact that he lives in slums and can't make a living, could not support a wife,or even girlfriend, really makes him "too confused to be a real super-hero".He doesn't have to be RICH,just work class or artist-class(as photographer)and get his living situation $$$$ better.
Wasn't a fan of this movie, too much of a comic book fan i suppose. It seemed as if they tried to hard to push many differing issues. With captain marvel dead in the comics and absorbed by rogue....eh its ok i suppose.
I enjoyed this one. I wouldn't say its one of the better Marvel movies, but it was an introduction movie. I'm more interested to see her part in the resolution of the Avenger's movie cliffhanger. Looking forward to seeing where the MCU is heading and with whom once this era is finished, and if I'll care after Tony Stark/Ironman, Captain America, and Thor are possibly at the end of their journey. The Guardians of the Galaxy and Spiderman will be leading things off...Black Panther and Dr. Strange will still be around...I guess we'll see.
This is cool just enough to get my attention does not matter if this Captain marvel was a originally male but this time was a female to promote the character I don't mind. This film is entertaining don't know how they do it but they made Samuel Jackson years younger.
@ecanso They have been doing it for awhile. Kurt Russell in Guardians 2 blew my mind, and then I saw they did it with RDJ in Civil War, and it was done with Michael Douglas in Ant Man, and that was amazing. But I still think little Captain America, before he gets beefed up by the machine, is the most amazing and funniest of all of the acting/video physical changes.
@ditzygypsy I guess that Hollywood is make changes to suit the age of melleniels the young. But I would like to see a Marvels film Based on the Character the Master of Kung fu, that would be exciting I think.
I didn’t quite know what to expect from this movie going in given all the online chatter and political discussions surrounding this film but, after leaving the theatre I can happily say I was very very impressed with the end result. You all know the drill by now with marvel movies and once again they turn out a very entertaining and important movie. The cast all do an incredible job, notably Ben Mendelssohn who is an absolute stand out in this movie! I really connected and understood Brie Larson’s take on Carol Danvers and by the end of the movie I found myself cheering on as she truly let go of the obstacles holding her down throughout the movie and became such a powerful individual. The only issue I have would be that there’s so much going on in the movie that I don’t feel enough time was spent on any specific plot point so as an audience member it can feel a bit confusing and unfocused at times other than the time spent with Carol’s journey of self discovery, but that’s only because of how ambitious the movie is. ... I believe this movie can resonate with anyone as it doesn't cater towards a specific audience as one would believe, but rather encourages independence and the idea that there is strength in our differences and that our places in this world shouldn't be determined by anyone other than yourself. Overall This movie does a good job in conveying the importance of individuality and the strength that comes with being your own person. Definitely recommend this movie to not just fans of the marvel movies, but anyone looking for a fun, humorous, action packed and entertaining movie with a great message for everyone to hear (7.5/ 10) Read moreLess
I am primarily DC fan but I have enjoy a few Marvel film und will definitely watch this film too.
Slow start but fun to watch
I regret paying to see this at the theatre.
this is not only THE WORST Marvel movie, but oone of THE WORST movie I see in a decade.
There realy is no story to tell
CGI is real crap quality, super cartoonish especially every spacecraft or flying scene looks so sh*t I cant believe this is Marvel.
Action scenes are cheap and all jump cuts bcause It was not coreographed and reshot weeks before released.
The direction is all over the place.
Writing is crap written by troll white previlleged feminist that doesnt understand feminism.
But the worst of all is Brie Larson's performance.
She is snarky, wooden and thinks throwing SPITEFUL gaze is being tough.
She speaks in a low low dumbBlonde voice I cant tell whats she says.. bcause she doesnt want to move her face at all.
not directors, or writer, or even the actors know what this movie is about.
but it sure is NOT connected AT ALL to next Avengers.
Unless you want to feel like stranggling yourself.
Skip this unbearable movie
A movie, any movie, has to grab your attention within the first 5-10 minutes, and the main characters has to get you to care about them. This movie, for how pretty it looks, simply doesn't do that, and the main character as written and portrayed is petty, self-centered and mean-spirited. The scene where she grills Fury to determine he isn't a Skrull is the best example of what kind of person she is. What I mean is she takes the questioning past the point of necessary simply to mock him, and he realized that after the fact, and when asked she simply destroyed the blasted the wall without a word. This shows her "might makes right" attitude, her not caring about how her actions impact the world, and how she seems to believe that she is simply better than everyone else.
I wanted to see Captain Marvel in the theaters after seeing the initial trailer months before, but due to money issues decided not to. Based on the trailer, the movie looked really good, but, like some movies, it simply wasn't. I'd seen the alternate scene for the motorcycle, and figured that wasn't how she'd been portrayed in the movie, but I was wrong. Even though the scene was a deleted scene for the movie, it actually is accurate to how she was written for the entire movie: deceptive, petty, mean and might makes right.
The fleurgan, overall, just detracted from the movie. Initially, it just stopped the flow of the scene when Fury drops everything to pet the cat. I don't care how much he liked cats, according to his professed career in the movie, he wouldn't do that. Even in the context of the movie itself he's mr. badass then, suddenly, "OMG CAT" and loses his mind. Later, the cat/fleurgan against stops the flow of the movie by unexpectedly eating all of the Skrulls and the Tesseract. It still doesn't make sense except as an unnecessary deus ex machina plot device. Even then it abruptly stopped the flow of both the scene and the movie as all of the characters just start standing around confused much like the audience was like "huh, what just happened??", and later detracts from other scenes where, suddenly, they expect the cat/fleurgan to do something again. Were they suddenly so powerless they couldn't do anything themselves? They managed to reduce Nick Fury, Mr. Badass himself, to someone just carrying a cat around.
The movie, overall, just falls flat and is uninteresting against the backdrop of the MCU and the movie concept held so much promise.
If I was to compare the TV version of Supergirl to this movie's version of Captain Marvel, Supergirl is written so much better, is so much more relatable and likeable. Supergirl is presented as someone who actually cares about the world around her, Captain Marvel is presented as someone who doesn't care about the world around her, only what she wants to do.
I'm not commenting on how Captain Marvel is presented in the comics (I honestly don't know), just in the movie.
Overall, the movie is pretty but boring, like a generic landscape painting that doesn't look like anything in particular. Read moreLess
@deiosa I do agree with a LOT of what you just said. It just rubbed me the wrong way and i didn't know how/why 100%. Great explanation and detail in your review.
As someone who read the comics this one was a bit of a miss for me. The action was great but the storyline and characters i found lacking. I have to be honest though the cat was hilariously cute.
I thought that this was a fantastic movie. I loved everything about it. I'm not a huge action/superhero fanatic but I do like the movies. I enjoyed the hell out of it and really got into the story. I'm a big alien fan though so it got points for that whole aspect and the alien characters themselves were pretty freaking cool. I say job well done all the way around. It doesn't suprise me in the least little bit that there's so many negative comments about it though. But that's expected, I guess. Any time a woman is shown in a dominant or powerful way and not in a kitchen, changing diapers or bent over some damn where, then the griping and complaining commences and everything about it gets snubbed and trashed. It's actually kind of funny.
@◦•●◉✿♡Momof3αηgєℓѕ♡✿◉●•◦ it is objectively BAD movie, from graphic to storyline.
Doesnt mean everyone that have higher standard for movie quality especialy a 200million dollar MARVEL movie is UNFEMINIST or wants her to just "be in the kitchen".
People with comments like yours, set feminism a little backwards.
What the freck is the correlation of SEXISM and BAD MOVIE REVIEW.
If there IS a correlation, I'm a feminist and I want the equality, in this case TAKING THE PUNCH of eeeeeeevery other movie does, in negative review.
in this case this movie deserves, bcause theyre not even trying AT ALL.
@◦•●◉✿♡Momof3αηgєℓѕ♡✿◉●•◦ I didn't like her because she seemed too full of herself. A bit too much ego for me. And it has nothing to do with being a woman, I didn't mind it in Robert Downy Jr.in the beginning, but going into the 8th (10th?) installment of the Marvel series? Crossing into arrogant territory.
[SPOILER]When she finally overcomes the Supreme whatever she didn't really seem to overcome that much of a hardship. In scenes like those they become a better stronger person by overcoming a barrier that was seemingly impossible. The Dark Knight Returns did it pretty good. Bruce Wayne physically and mentally broken, imprisoned by Bane, seemingly at the depths of despair, overcomes all of it to become a better hero. Captain Marvel's catharsis seemed a bit empty and unfulfilling. Even Tony Stark seems to have wrestled more with himself. Then again, there's how many movies with Ironman? Maybe it just because he's had more screen time ...
I will say that once she became Captain Marvel she was pretty [email protected]$$. From her look to her power, I was more invested in her character while she was full blown CM than in the rest of the movie. . Read moreLess
@Kardue Well, she's supposed to be a fighter jock. Have you met fighter pilots? Their being 'full of themselves' is the stuff of legends.
Great movie, did not disappoint! Interesting story with a great climax. It's also pretty good quality for a cam. The plot didn't really develop the way I expected it to, which is also a good thing. Captain Marvel actually earns a special place in The Avengers when you learn about her old call sign.
Also there's a tribute to Stan Lee which was really nice.
So I originally gave this a 6 rating only because 5 was too harsh, and its certainly not a 7. Yet, after watching it again earlir with my boys I realized how boring it was. My boys, who love nearly every Marvel movie, were bored to death. I actually got a "can we watch something else" from one of them. This is an origin story but it wasnt needed. She could have been introduced in endgame and been done with it like Drax or Mantis. They both dont need a whole back story movie but, we know and love them still through other movies. This just feels like Hollywood wanted to do the whole "strong woman" thing that has been causing a stir. They certainly didnt do the character justice because she is a really awesome superhero. There were some cool effects in the movie and the skrulls were done well. As for the plot, man I just am on the fence about what was written. It seems like for every good event or element to the story there was a flaw or two. It's like the whole step forward, two steps back saying, or in this case, thats the tagline to this movie.
Another liberal platform, half the movie is about her past and how "the man" kept here down ffs... fk off democrats. Anyway, the movie as a whole was a little better then Ironman 3 so here's your warning... just a bad script that had many continuity issues.
@CyborgVampire It's a movie. Don't take it so personal
@bententen That's right, it's a movie, keep your liberal garbage out of it!
@CyborgVampire Liberal this, liberal that, liberals gone give you a heart-attack
@CyborgVampire I see you are good at repeating others thoughts
Didn't like it, i thought it is a must to see before endgame, i was wrong!
Captain Marvel..marvelous movie! Storyline 9...special effects 8 1/2, acting 9.2, overall, the movie rates a 9 from me. Rest In Peace Stan Lee, you were important to me.
Great movie all the way through love that cat ...
Bunch of spoilers got for the Carol Danvers, and she was super amazing for the superhero going on.
Decent and not as bad as all the talk was saying. That being said, there were problems: stiff, wooden, and boring acting on the part of Capt. Marvel, little humor (I barely cracked a smile the whole film), her powers are so over-the-top that no one and no thing in the universe can beat her. Yes, there was too much grrrl powr nonsense, but oh well. I think if the other things had been fixed, the grrrl powr issue would have been ok.
This movie put me to sleep .It was boring ,not enough action ,more talk then anything .I should have not wasted my time watching this .I give it a 2 out of 10 stars .boring !!!
Super fun to watch for the Captain Marvel, and she is very powerful, and the TV spot still stunning and f**king cool! Love it!
Brilliant, she had me at "Kiss Me Deadly".
Thanks again and rest in peace Stan Lee. You never let your fans down. May they CGI your cameo appearances to infinity and beyond.
movie was just ok, good for a one time watch but not a top marvel movie 6.5/10
@frhjve🦈 hi i,m glad i see you i never got the chance to defend myself,i talked to mom of angels its her birthday she told me there where hackers here who had fake accounts of people on here.that must be what happend i heard what i suppose to have said i swear i would never say that to a lady.if i was guilty i would have leave it be but its hard cause i never did something wrong.this is all i have to say its up to you or ask her i leave you alone now i never talk to anyone like that good day to you.ps i liked the movie alot i,m a marvel fan.
@swans2525 I think you're taking what I said out context. I didn't say hackers had fake accounts of people on here, I said there was a certain bully who has multiple accounts to harass certain people and that's why I'm slow to respond sometimes. When i said that it was in no way referring to this situation which you mentioned later. Not saying your hacker theory can't or never will happen, just saying that's not exactly what I said nor in the context that I said it.
@◦•●◉✿♡Momof3αηgєℓѕ♡✿◉●•◦ ok sorry for that just forget it ok i cant delete it but i was innocent.and sorry i mentioned your name dear i,m passioned when i,m wrongly accused even when its a while back, sleep well dear mom of angels.
@swans2525 It's okay, I understand. I don't mind anyone repeating anything I say as long as it's what I said and in the context that I said it. I understand the frustration of being accused of something especially if you didn't do it and feeling the need to clear your name, but if I've learned one thing in this online world it's that sometimes you have to just ignore the dumb sh*t and move on. People are going to think what they want. There's not much you can do to change that and sometimes by trying to much to get them to believe you, you end up confirming the negative thoughts and beliefs they may have developed. I don't know what really happened, but if your conscience is free and clear of any wrongdoing then thats really all that matters. Hope you have a good day/night.
@◦•●◉✿♡Momof3αηgєℓѕ♡✿◉●•◦ thank you so much your really a verry nice person i,m glad you understand and yess i will forget it now,its almost 1 am i watch a movie and go to sleep.i got to know you better today and you are an amazing lady, respect and peace to you.
@swans2525 It's almost 8pm here so I'm way behind you. 😜 sleep tight.
@◦•●◉✿♡Momof3αηgєℓѕ♡✿◉●•◦ Wisdom here cause yes,you often can't change others' minds.--good for Momo!!:)
@◦•●◉✿♡Momof3αηgєℓѕ♡✿◉●•◦ (how can you tell they don't??they look like normal people.)
wow, better than recent marvel movies :)
I liked it....all and all it's more of a women empowerment movie...CGI is cool and not to much...action from 1 to 10 is a 7-8 for me...but the story is pretty good...i would like to see a second follow up movie with more fire to it....
@OrangeBody Yes i agree. Carol Danver's story goes much deeper. It was a great intro to her as a superhero but i personally was expecting a bit more.
Well, I’ve just watched it in the latest quality and it wasn’t that bad.
Trying to link in all the various marvel themes and characters never really worked for me but it was a brave attempt.
I guess in an era of PC we will keep getting attempts to set the balance straight regarding super heroes but it’s interesting that the 2 I found dullest
We’re this and black panther.
The plot was very very basic and the acting the same , even with the talented Jude Law, it never really reached the convincing level.
I’d give it 6/10 because it was quite diverting in parts but wouldn’t watch it again. However I’ve watched guardians 3 times to put this into context.
I’m trying to think if a better director or script would have lifted it but I can’t really see how ?
@shabbapaul Over-saturation. These last several years I've grown tired of the superhero genre, yet I keep watching. I bet they're counting on that. I guess it's new to kids. $$$
I am definitely more interested in Dc because of the reason the films are darker.
Twisted und more for adults, I also find the characters more relatable while Marvel...Iron Man was decent but then they come out with nonsense such as Guardians of the galaxy, I could not watch five minutes of what was akin to children film.
I don't believe either one is superior but if you like dark slightly more realistic film with characters who you truly grow to love then I don't feel Marvel ever lives up to this though this is only my opinion.
I will however be watching this because I am curious und many friend recommend it to me 😻💞😸.
This was a decent movies. Good times pass quickly while watching this film. I like most Marvel films and this was no exception, but the timing of this film coming out right around the Avengers release is not a well thought out concept. Over all the movies was decent and worth the watch.
OK. There is a good interview with Brie and Sam Jackson on the latest Jonathan Ross show season 14 ep.1
Finally watched Captain Marvel. Not bad at all. Now, I'm going to binge watch the first few movies related to the MCU. I'm hopping, I get a glimpse of Goose somewhere. Cheers 🍻
@WEBHEAD🕸️ Most likely not, since she is new to the MCU.
IMDb is 6.8 if I am not mistaken...Greets, Seahawk
I thought the film was good for what it was. Although, I thought that the setting of the film didn't really have any significance to the story other than the matter of Fury's pager.
This film may take place around '95 and 96, but it might as well taken place in 2000 or 2001, and with the most molecular changes it could've been the same exact film. If the 90s were to shape the setting of the film, they should've added a greater level of "culture".
If the film took place in the earlier in the decade, perhaps they could've the mentioned Grunge scene taken shape during that time, and perhaps introduce the punk/grunge fashion as well as the night scene.
They could've even depicted events such as the LA Riots! She could've(spolier) crash landed into the BlockBuster at night and as she was chasing after the skrull during the day the shootings and looting and the panic could've occurred, creating a greater sense of chaos during such a defining moment in Los Angeles's history.
The film is still good, at most a 3.15 out of 4 Read moreLess
@neoxlar70 They did have grunge fashion in there. And music. Enough considering that this would’ve probably been closer to about 1996, because she was using an Internet cafe. They put in about as much grunge fashion as anyone who likes clothes would probably care to see, lol. Right around the moment when she steals the motorbike is one time that sticks WAY out in my mind. And then they played Come As You Are during one of the scenes in Mar Vel’s Lab. Grunge was already behind us by around ‘96 as pop was already making a comeback. I think there was plenty of that section of time in our historical culture mentioned to give us perspective in when it took place.
Captain Marvel was just amazing I loved it the humour and entertainment. I say the plot of the film was well set up showing how carol got her powers and I suggest people should watch this film before the final avengers film endgame so that we all know just how capable and powerful she is. Her costume is colourful which makes her look even cooler when she is in action firing her blasts. She will undoubtedly play a very important role in endgame in the defeat of Thanos when she teams up with the remaining avengers to take down Thanos.
I think a lot of people will enjoy watching this film and the people will be even more thrilled and interested in seeing her in action in endgame after watching captain marvel. Carol is a really stubborn, emotional but also determined and she is fighting for what's right and because of that I believe she has a good moral compass of what's right and that's what makes her so human and special, she is out protecting the world fighting for justice and those traits make her a true hero.
... The film had good soundtracks that fitted the scenes and carol battled like a great warrior where people can look up to her. So I would say Brie Larson has nailed it. Her performance as captain marvel was very good and, made the film enjoyable and worked well together with Samuel Jackson because he also played the younger Nick Fury well as someone who didn't know much about the aliens and we find out what happened to his eye for him wearing an eyepatch, Until he met Carol Danvers and he came realize the enormity amount of threat the other aliens pose which is what made him decide to put together the The Avengers in the future to protect the world from aliens. 💕
I’m rating this movie 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Read moreLess
I'm a big fan of women as heroes. For too many years women were always in the background. Now, were seeing more of them as what they should be - front and center. Captain marvel does just that, and does it well. We get to learn her past, how she acquired her powers, and how her past taught her to use then for good.
Brie Larson was the perfect choice for Captain Marvel. She carries the movie as the lead - something many actors have a difficult time doing. Jackson's Jackson - he is what he is. He does a sturdy job as always. I've always loved Jude Law. I remember him from A.I., where, as a part of the movie, he carried it better than any of the others. As Yon-Rogg in this one, he's right where he should be: the bad guy, and he carries that very well.
That she turns out to be the most powerful woman in the universe is awesome in itself. Misogynists beware - she's coming for you.
This movie was fantastic. One of the best Marvel movies after Black Panther.
Actually not bad. Like all Marvel movies, it diverges from the comics. The previous versions of Mar-vell was more soft and had a love interest.
This one was kind of all Amazon, and suspiciously spent way too much time with a woman and her daughter. I'm pretty sure Disney wanted to pursue this but thought twice about it.
While it is true she is the first MCU female superheroe to star in her own movie, I am not sure what the big deal is.
She was never a prime character in Marvel Comics. Although they tried many times to make her so.
There were other females more popular than her, such as Rogue, She-Hulk, Storm and the Black Captain Marvel. Yup There are probably 10 different people in Marvel Comics with the name Marvel. The Black Captain Marvel, was actually the second woman to lead the Avengers, after wasp.
Her powers were such, that only people who didn't remember her would think that the current Captain Marvel was the most powerful Avenger.
@MPA2000 Does it not also matter how much of a market for "women's movies(and girls)" there is available? The first "Charlies' Angels" film was very popular with girls.--the actresses wanted that link to be continued--there definitely IS A MARKET.
Another fun and entertaining Marvel movie. I enjoyed it. I give it a 9 out of 10.
Liked this one..it was really good than Black Panther movie.
I enjoyed it, although i would've liked to see Carol have a little more depth.
As for the main copy on the site, watchable, sound not great in some areas, also, the dark scenes are really dark and nothing is really visible, passable copy.
@yankydoodle Post credit scene for anyone wanting to see it
@yankydoodle Post credit scene in HD
A light, entertaining film filled with Marvel-style quips and buddy-cop dynamics. It was not what I expected given how it was marketed (actually I felt it was poorly marketed), but I was pleasantly surprised by the actual film. Solid B+.
I think the movie did an excellent job introducing Carol Danvers. The biggest strengths for me were Carol's interactions with Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn's portrayal of the villain, and the climactic portrayal of Carol's awesome powers. The movie sets her up as THE most powerful Avenger in Endgame, and I look forward to seeing how she shifts the balance in their favor.
There are some weak points for me, like underutilized characters (Minerva, Maria Rambeau, Ronan the Accuser), questionable soundtrack choices, the inherent Mary Sue-ness of her character (which is accurate to the comic book character, and is the same issue Superman has as well), and a missed opportunity to build on the cosmic mythology of the MCU. But at the end of the day, this is an easy-going popcorn film, not to be taken too seriously. It entertains, and makes me want to see more of Captain Marvel in future films.
... It was also a clever way to save her real impact for Endgame, where I expect them to show more of her powers. Read moreLess
went to the theater to see this....its not playing yet. 1/5 bc marvel sux, dc rules!
@Onable Still better than Black Panther, which made little to no sense, with its half ash, so called, action.
@bententen Totally agree
Captain Mar-vel was better than I expected, because the trailers did it absolutely no justice. Definitely want to see it again, once I can find a version that's not so dark.
Only complaint is I can't understand why the recorder of most of these Marvel movies don't record till the end, even past the credits, knowing there is always something extra being revealed about the an upcoming release, which probably would had shown Nickolas Fury contacting Captain Mar Vel due to the dust bowl that Thanos left behind in a snap.
I don't like this movie.but it's Marvel movie so I like it
Captain Marvel is the origin story of a first female led superhero in MCU so i'd say the story is good not great though, the best thing about the movie is that it has a very funny humour scenes of [SPOILER]Nick Fury & Talos the skrull and the most Disappointing moments is when Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) the main character of the film isn't making us the audience feel excited or enjoyful but always taking seriously but hey she's fit the role to play the character ... My burning question is [SPOILER]in the second end credit scene we see Goose the Alien Cat puke out the teserract in Fury office desk why the desk isn't melt as we can see in Captain America The First Avenger (2011)
even the steel/Iron melt so easily? What is the desk made of? ...i rated 4.5 out of 5, for those who are MCU fans I recommend you to watch this movie before Avengers : EndGame to avoid confusion
@Stan123 While it is true she is the first MCU female superheroe to star in her own movie, I am not sure what the big deal is.

This wasn't really for you, but for everyone
@MPA2000 Just my opinion thats all
@Stan123 I know. I just went on a rant.
@MPA2000 Thank you for explaining there are ten different Marvel folk!
Action not bad, relied heavily on CGI, story line was lame at best, very long almost feel asleep, have to thank the actress for stating that men and white people shouldn't go cause it sure wasn't worth $50 to see this, Green Lantern was better. 2 out of 5 cat was the best part.....
@ride4vets I was enjoying unbiased comment until this but I suppose there would be one.
Personally I will be ignoring biased reviews just like I ignore half of the negative review on other sites, I upped the rating using the theory at least thirty percent would be judgment based on actress rather than film.
Then I find many friends who seen this to positive review it, in the end of day a good film will be related so regardless of few toxic people.
@PrinzessinHarlequin I like how you also use your brain when seeing reviews. I encountered many misogynist racists here in the comments.
I enjoyed it, I think it was better then Black Panther.
@vintage good, glad people find it good--if they get a woman to be MARVEL,she has to play it twice as well as a man.(we always must)hah hah!!
I really find not too much hype but after watching moving it's really freaking good 👍👍
I heard a ton of people liked this movie. I was late in watching it but i have to say i was a bit disappointed. The constant flashbacks were annoying and confusing.
I really think Carol Danvers should've had an introduction movie first so the audience can get familiar (or re-familiar) with her. We were kinda just dropped into the plot and everything was a mess. This could've easily been split into two movie plots and i would have liked it much more.
I did enjoy the action scenes and the directors/producers made it easy to feel bad for Carol when she discovers her origin. Great acting and affects. I just wish it flowed a bit more smoothly.
If you're a feminist or just someone who enjoys watching girls kick butt this movie may be a bit lacking to you. Go for Wonderwoman or even Superwoman. Hoping that maybe we get a second movie or a sequel. That way Carol Danver's story gets another chance.
Some good action scenes but apart from that... thought the Cat was best part of the movie. Was waiting so long to see the Kree-Skrull war but this was just underwhelming af. Not the worst film in the MCU but also no where near the best. Maybe if it was released in Phase One it would've fared better but in Phase 3 after almost 2 dozens films in the MCU... it's just an underwhelming entry. The bar is pretty high nowadays.
She's so OP. Like what the point of rooting for her?! The point of giving a hero a weakness or an Achilles heel is that so you get to root for them and be worried for them cause they're not invincible and their win isn't guaranteed. They basically made her so powerful that she can basically mow through literally anything. No matter who comes along or what kinda army there is... The character is just gonna mow through.
Obviously, it did very well in the box office. I thought everyone went to see how Nick lost his eye. Anyway, jokes apart, this film isn't a great origin story. Action scenes are good.
It is not as funny as the other Marvel movie. Plus she has all the power in the universe. Which makes her like goodness. It is like Superman but the female version. Basically a god.
Her character is very different from Natasha, Rogers, Tony, and Thor. Even though Thor is a god but you beat him up. Like we have seen in the 1st avengers movie and Thor part 3.
The acting was decent enough. Directing is okay.
My review for this movie is 6/10.
I liked this movie :) The green aliens there really looked like "Orcs" from "Warcraft" ^^
La caña deseando que hagan la segunda parte de esta película me encanta capitana Marvel aleluya
Ravenousbird gave an expert review of this movie, but she did not mention the tongue in cheek humour,a dry humour. The movie is making fun OF ITSELF. HAH HAH!!And parts of the action, and the confusion of "which came first the Captain Marvel"or the Carol Danvers. It also has some good "female-friend=ship bonding" cause Carol's best friend all her life is another pilot, female. We have lots of tongue in cheek humour, and the whole story is entertaining, along with all the action, while we put families in there, trying to protect them too.--And we are saying in the story, you have power within you you don't even know you have, like Captain Marvel.(Example;I never thought I could stop drinking FOREVER.--And I did it.I went to AA,MEETINGS,SPONSOR,did the steps, and stopped the booze. It really saved my life, but I saved my life!--with help).
Besides telling people, women and girls, that they are stronger than they know, you guys have the same thing with YOUR FRIENDS--YOU HAVE MALE PALS,you might have known forever, and you give each other support so you can relate to we women who do the same thing..-- And we have to be super-heroes every day, cause the world might be as dangerous as the Captain Marvel world is.This is a fun, clever, and funny movie(you are going to see a very odd cat),and it's sometimes sincere, sometimes making fun,or satire of super heroes,or seeing your parents, kids as their own super-heroes.---NEVER a boring moment!!
Had to watch this movie again it's awesome just can't get over that cat loved it and the ending !!!
another awesome flikk in the Marvel universe.Bree Larson is hott AF ..8/10 ..x6
Loved it! Granted, it's not a screamer like, say, Dr Strange but if you're a comic book reader you have to admit Captain Marvel was always a rather dull and one-dimensional hero. The incarnation of 'yay, we need a Supes of our own'-enthusiasm at Marvel Comics. That said, it's a very entertaining ride with a, for me, more than likeable heroine and a great Samuel L. Jackson as young Nick Fury. The plot is just the right amount of slow-burn to let you cheer the finale and the visual eff3cts are great. One-liners abound, we have a cute feline actor and it should (and has) upset the right group of people. While Brie Larson wouldn't have been MY first choice, she is more than adequate to give a few edges to this originally boring heroine, even makes her likeable in a Xena kind of way. Like!
feminist Garbage, with a garbage human brie larson, worst marvel movie to date
