I remember the fear that the media instilled around the whole world. My husband told me on new years eve 1999 that he would do anything to keep us safe and fed, us and the children. Even if he had to kill one of our neighbors. That was how scared we all were. Then to wake up in the morning to find not one thing was true. It was my first dose of reality in not trusting the media. I do believe it was election year so I'm certain the y2k bull had a lot to do with that. Those were some crazy days. We literally feared the world was going to end
